The Qadir Ali Baig Festival Hyderabad, is an initiative to revive theatre culture in Hyderabad. 2009 saw performances by renowned theatre practitioners. There was Naseeruddin Shah's Katha Collage and Ismat Aapa Ke Naam, Resham Ki Dor, by Qadir Ali Baig, Life, Love & Madness by Alyque Padamsee, Chehre, by Usha Ganguly, Maya Bazaar by Surabhi Theatre, Begum Barve by Satish Alekar, Else by Hauke and Reinecke from Germany and Mahim Junction, by Sohaila Kapur.  MJ was the only invitee from Delhi. 

Bharat Rang Mahotsav, or The National School of Drama Festival,  is today acknowledged as the largest theatre festival of Asia dedicated solely to theatre. In addition to the national and international productions/ performances that are staged during the Festival, the fare also includes exhibitions, conferring of awards/tributes, interactive sessions with directors and performers for the general public and professionals, Photographic exhibitions featuring landmark productions, Open forums and meetings and a shorter festival in another city to which some of the productions travel. The last Bharat Rang Mahotsav, organized from 6-22 January 2010, hosted 76 performances drawn from across 13 countries. Special features of BRM XII were Natya Manthan – a two day round table, with participation by theatre scholars and practitioners from across India and abroad; and Natya Naad - special evenings of theatre music and song featuring the music of stalwarts and groups who have been integral to the theatre tradition of India. Mahim Junction was
one of the selected few from Delhi.

The Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre Festival, Dubai officially launched the UAE's first multi-disciplinary arts festival on its 2009/10 season agenda.The season saw the hosting of a number of international artists and performers of music, dance, drama and film. Jasmine & The Devil, The Tales of Peter Rabbit, Maz Jobrani, Horrible Histories, Animal Farm, Almost Maine, One Small Step and Mahim Junction were invited under the drama category. Mahim Junction was the only Indian entry. .

The Original Theatre Festival in Muscat, Oman,  celebrated its third anniversary in 2010, with a series of six Indian plays by "highly renowned directors and actors", as the festival director, Dr. Sathish Nambiar,  put it. The plays that performed were Rahul da Cunha’s Chaos Theory, Q Productions' The President is Coming, Manav Kaul's Shakkar Ke Paanch Daane, Dinyar Contractor's Tere Bhi Chup Mere Bhi Chup, Akash Khurana's Jake’s Women and Sohaila Kapur's Mahim Junction, which had the distinction of being the only play from Delhi.
